Cute Shoes

Why is it that every cute pair of shoes tears up your feet? I had a great idea for an outfit: Black dress pants, white collared shirt (tucked-in), turquiose belt, turquiose necklace, and turquiose high heels. I had the other peices to the outfit, I just needed the shoes, so Kaia And I went to the mall in search of shoes, and I found some at Dillards last week. They were on sale even!! I tried them on, they were gorgeous but I could tell the ball of my foot would get sore so I bought some little inserts called tip-toes. I was all excited to wear this outfit Monday to work at Woodbury. I show up at school, so far so good. Some of the girl students are say how cute the shoes are,a nd what a great outfit. I'm felling very happy with my creation, and that would happen to be the day that have the staff is out so counselor's have to cover lunch duty, there is a fight we have to run to, I keep forgetting things in the office and have to walk back to get. About one hour in to my dayI apply the first of many band-aids to my heel. Fifteen minutes later the next heel. An hour later I have to change the heel band-aids because they have rubbed off and stop in the nurses office to get a bigger bandaid for the side of my feet. I considered going home early because the pain was almost unbearable and my feet were going numb on and off. After another band-aid change before my time was up I limped to the car, immediatley took them off and drove home. For a while even after I took the shoes off it was uncomfortable to stretch my feet out and walk on them. I have decided theses shoes will either become tour shoes (three hour tour shoes, like for church where you sit the majority of the time) or you may find them up on ebay. Maybe someone else will have better luck!

Weekend at Auntie's

This weekend Derek's sister volunteered to watch and KEEP the kids over night. I can sometimes get rid of one or two, but all three?! It is truly a rarity, and a treat! Ashley (Derek's sister) was excited to have the kids over, and we figured it was so she and her boyfriend (Frankie) could get the whole baby thing out of their system. They live in a cute three story house with two dogs. Zack, Matt and Kaia were so excited to be in such a house and with dogs (as their mother will never get a dog) and commenced running up and down all three floors yelling and screaming every time the dogs would chase them. We thought they were going to ask us to take the kids home before we could even leave. But that was not the case. Ashley and Frankie decided to take the kids to Chuck E. Cheese. Neither of them had been there since they were kids. At that happy note Derek and I made a quick exit, grabbed some dinner, and went home. We were looking forward to enjoying our house in peace and quiet!
Sunday morning we slept in late (for us) did not have to make breakfast for anyone, did not have to break up any fights, remind children to get chores done, it was blissful. We eventually had to get the children, and bring them back, but the 18hours without them was a nice and needed break. They had fun with Auntie Ashley and Frankie, and nobody peed the bed :) In fact while they were at Chuck E. Cheese redeeming their tickets for prizes, the girl working behind the counter told Ashley and Frankie that my three kids were the most respectful children to ever visit the place. (Maybe it was her first day on the job J/K :) But it is nice to know that my children can behave without my watchful eye.
I am so grateful for Ashley and Frankie for volunteering to take on that huge responsibility so Derek and I could enjoy some quiet.

Joining the bandwagon

We had a lesson last Sunday about creating our own small plates like Nephi did, and since I hate actually compose text, I decided to maybe write some stuff on the computer. My sister-in-law has wanted a family website where we could all input our schedules and upcoming events to keep each other informed, and she wanted me to do it, but I have no desire or time to maintain a website so this will have to do. I have officially jumped on the blogging bandwagon. Now I can tell people to "check out my blog". Hopefully I'll be able to remeber the address :)
Well, so long for now.
